Hi
I recently was involved in getting the Pune fraternity together. A general HR fraternity meet.
I observed that most meets (irrespective on the locality) do not quite reach the intended purpose. Neither the numbers (of members) nor the ideas.
What do you think could be the reason that keeps members out of such activities intended for learning and knowledge sharing & What are the expectations from such meets....
Members, please contribute....
Thanks

@KAMAL

I really appreciate that you stood up to spoke, related to this topic.

Regarding this only I was asking the coordinators of CITE HR All INDIA meet to give the Agenda of Meet, Duration of Meet, and what exactly they are going to do in CITE HR meet.

There are some points to be considered by the organisers of MEET, while organising any meet.

The detailed agenda of meet should be circulated to participants a long time before the meet. (this has not yet been done for all india CHR meet, and they have already started registrations, if XX people register now, and if tomorrow u announce the agenda of meet which emphaises on a particular type of industry, then members who are not from that type of industry would ultimately take back their registration for the meet. And it is not easy for each and every member to arrange to come to the meet without any proper agenda, or objective, even though initially members are excited, but as the meet nears many withdraw their registration, keeping in mind the transportation cost, non relevant agenda for their industry)

more comming in part II

A meet must have an agenda, a specific objective, a purpose, which includes the introduction of members in the FIRST MEET.
As the members are of various backgrounds, the similar groups need to be formed and these groups can discuss the topics related to their industry.
Most meets ultimately end up as get together and tea snacks time.
Till now I have attended only one meet in my city, that too with only one CITE HR member       . Only we two had a meet for about 1 .5 hrs.
But as the members are so less and it was first meet, so nothing specific could be discussed.
Would request the HONOURABLE SENIOR MEMBERS TO PUT SOME LIGHT INTO THIS TOPIC>
THANKS AND REGARDS

Hi
Theme of the meeting should be set and communicated to the members in advance to enable them to come prepared for discussion.
We can have one of the current/hot HR issues as theme for the meet. We can also organize a short lecture by some renowned HR specialist to attract more HR fraternities.
Thanks & Regards

Hi Friends,
We have organized seven meetings in Chennai and only mission for now is make it
1. A Platform to learn
2. Provide opportunity for people to network
3. Ensure that people are free to discuss their challenges.
We have been doing this for a year by now. I believe people who participated in our meets find it useful. You can repeat the same to make their time and your time worth.
