Dear Sir
Thanks for your valuable advise...
So will advice in future when comes to Safety footwear as follows:
Double Sensity Slip Resistant PU Sole, Steel Toe Cap with EN Certified one for general use, for most of the employees
&
Nitrile Rubber Sole, Steel Toe Cap with EN Certified one mainly for workers in Hot areas.
Now what my question is which safety footwear will be for those who dealing with Electricity... Electrical Engineers, Electriciains, Instrument Engineers and Technicians, Etc.? Di-electric foot wear? Whats the dofferance in this from normal safety footwear?
If the footwear is of CE marking, then who will be the issuing agency of the slip resistance certificate? And who will be the issuing agency in case IS approved footwear?
Keep on sharing your expertise with us...Thanks in advance...

Dear Dipil,
For Electricians who deal with live electricity should wear Vulcanised rubber sole footwear. Please ensure that such a footwear has no metal in sole complex, including steel mid sole. Normal safety footwear if we presume it to be antistatic will protect you up to 300 volts while rubber footwear which is as per EN 50321, will provide protection from 600 volts to 1000 volts. Further this level of protection get reduced with wearing of sole.
For technician working in Electronic industry, ESD footwear is preferred.
CE marking issuing authority is in UK. Lot of labs like, SATRA, Intertek, SGS issue slip resistance test certificate . In India FDDI also issue slip resistance test certificate.

Dear Sir
Thanks for your valubale reply...
One more question, if the footwear to be given to all employees expect the electrical persons, can we have to always suggest one with steel mid sole or not?
Once again thanks and keep on share your expertise with us...

Dear Dipil,
Its advisable to go for antistatic footwear for all employees except electricians.
There is no issue in having steel mid sole in Antistatic footwear but it cannot be in a Electrical shock Resistant footwear.
Steel Mid sole is required only when you need penetration resistance.
Even in case you require penetration resistance insert for electricians you can ask for Kevlar mid sole.
We are making such a footwear but it is little expensive.

Dear Sir
Thanks for your continous support and the answers given... We are using Kevlar Shoes for those workers working in hot areas...
Once again thanks a lot for your reply's and keep on sharing your expertise with us...

There is no need of Kevlar shoe for hot area. I understand that you mean it contain Kevlar mid sole.
Nitrile rubber sole footwear stitched with Kevlkar thread is best.
You must not forget that even if you protect foot with an appropriate footwear, what about other body part.
Therefore the temperature or heat contact test is done for one minute.
We have launched world renowned JCB safety footwear.
They are sensibly priced & I am attaching photo of the same.
They are all state of the art safety footwear.

Dear Sir
First of all sorry for a late replying.... Thanks for your nice explanation...
How we have to do this temperature or heat contact test? You were talking about footwear only or it's needed for full body?
Also how much temp. resistant this JCB Safety Footweqar?
Whether this can be advised for a normal worker for 8hours wearing and working? On normal conditions, not on hot areas?

From India

A good PU soled footwear resist 150 degree Celsius for one minute.
A Nitrile rubber sole footwear will resist 300 degree Celsius for one minute.
Its a heat contact test where a predetermined heated metal contact is applied to the sole for 60 seconds. Sole should not char or crack for a pass test.
Another important thing is the conduction of heat to the wearer. For this insole plays a very important role.
All the JCB footwear displayed as attachment here are excellent footwear for majority of industry except hot areas.
They are priced between Rs 900-1100 per pair & are CE marked.
They are class apart from we are getting in the market.

Prefer PU sole to PVC sole, though a bit costly PU is comfortable than PVC which is hard and heavy. Finally you can refer to IS:15298. Also ask for slip resiatnce test certificate. Finally your choice depends on the application you are looking for and the price range.
