Yes, infact we should have multi factor authorisation enable for important accounts which includes, OTP via SMS, Email, Use of Physical Tokens, OTP from Authentication apps, ingerprint or iris scan etc and more

We should also use VPN Network to hide our identities including keeping a complex password for an account which includes, Lower / Higher case letters, numbers, special charatcters etc

We also have to keep our system updated with latest software / version / patches so that the hackers can not use any fault / buh in the system to exploite.

2 Factor authentication is indeed essential and it is the common norm now. It is being used for all banking apps, even your gmail or other mail accounts sends you a prompt in case you are logging in from a separate device.
