Hi Rupa,
First of all I would not suggest you to go for correspondence MBA, there is no benefit. It is always advisable to go for Part time if you cant go for regular MBA.
Following are the Options:
# Symbiosis Center for Distance Learning ( correspondence MBA). The whole course will cost you somewhere between 25- 40 thousands.
# IMT Ghaziabad - Part time MBA
# ICFAI- correspondence MBA
# IGNOU- Part time and affordable. 3 years MBA with entrance exam and I think IGNOU has a good reputation for MBA program.
So, Get set and ready to join any of these Institutes.
Cheers,
Archna :D

Hi,
The university I had mentioned in the mail is Indira Gandhi National Open University, the fees there would not be more than Rs. 7000 per sem.
In Symbiosis also the complete course is for 25-40 thousand. the per semester fees is really cheap.

hi,
I do understand your problem. I would suggest that dont compromise on univesity. They may charge you high but when it comes to placement they offer you the best. There are many banks who offer loans without gaurantee. You have to pay them back ony once you start working. Then you can always pay it.
Doing a part time or correspondence MBA may not help you much as far as jobs are concenred.(Except Marketing as a specialisation) Bank of Baroda, ICICI, Bank of India are some of the banks. The rate of interest is floating. Just think about it.
Could you please let me know the area of your interest, and your prefered location of College?
Regards,
Priyanka

Dear Roopa,

Hello!!!

I have done my MBA (HR) through IGNOU. The MBA program they offer is quite good. It is a 3 yr program consisting of 21 credits including the project. The course material is very good.

U have to clear an entrance exam to get admission into the course. I cleared my MBA in June 2005. In each semester u are required to select maximum 4 subjects and at that time the fees per course was Rs. 600/.

And for the project (equivalent to 2 subjects) the fees was Rs. 1200/-

I don't know if the fees has increased at present.

The fees I mentioned is inclusive of course material and exam fees.

IGNOU has also started a placement cell.

However in the job market there is some constraint as some organizations - govt. org as well as some big Pvt organizations look out for only full time MBA's. This is to the disadvantage of people who have to work and study together, b'coz after putting in as much effort or perhaps more effort, a part time MBA loses out on some good job prospects.

But don't lose heart, there are many organizations who are only concerned with the skills that a candidate has acquired and the knowledge he posseses.

So ALL THE BEST!!!!

Regards,

Vinita
