Hi,
Just like to add few things..
Every state has rules made under the Factories Act, which may have the provisions that, in any factory even if there are nos of employees are less than the prescribed nos required for the Ambulance provision, but involves such a operation, which may be affected to human body and if factory inspectorate feels the requirement to have a provision of Ambulance in that factory, he may make order accordingly to the factory management.
The ultimate aim to provide immediate first aid to injured person, factory inspectorate has the power to issue an order for such provision considering the probable risk in the manufacturing operation of such factories.

Dear Sangeeta
The Ambulances are made available as per the condition of work and the probability and possibility of getting injury and its severity, location of the factory and the nearby locality for any 24 hours hospital and the spread out area of the factory.
But the Ambulance Room is to be provided to give the first aid to the injured workmen. Ambulance room is nothing but a first aid centre at factory/workplace.
Similarly Domestic Fire Tender also made available as per the work conditions and factory's manufacturing process involved in which there are chances for frequent occurrence of fire accidents.

As Factory Act 1948 mentions that -
" 4*[(4)] In every factory wherein more than five hundred workers
are 5*[ordinarily employed] there shall be provided and maintained an
ambulance room of the prescribed size, containing the prescribed
equipment and in the charge of such medical and nursing staff as may
be prescribed 6*[and those facilities shall always be made readily
available during the working hours of the factory] "

As per The Factories Act 1948, Industry having more than 500 manpower should have Ambulance.
