Hello Nishtha,
Myself Amit Seth working with an IT company at Ahmedabad. As you are interested to move your career in HR field, but for that do you have any prior experience or any specialization in the same field.
Today HR with technical degree is very much in demand because so many IT firms are landing here to expand their business and the HR with technical degree will make them free with the recruitment part.
So i can say that your decision is really appreciable but if you dont have any specialised degree then try to get it first, it will strengthen your skills and your suitability for the same field.
Regards,
Amit Seth.

Thanks Mr. Seth for the very quick reply.
I do not have any professional degree yet. Though i know i have to go through the conventional method of getting MBA with HR or GM specialization which i am surely going to do .
Till then i want to acquire some knowledge and want to prepare myself for the future.

Miss Nistha,
As you are working as Electronics Engineer, so apart from moving to HR field you can go for Higher studies in your domain. But your planning is very appreciable to move in HR field, if you do have interest in HR then go ahead. It has a very wide scope as well as wide area to cover up. As much as depth you will move in this field your interest will be more focused.
Its good that before getting any degree you want to acquire some knowledge from the same field. Definitely it will you a lot in future to explore yourself as a HR professional.
Keep in touch.
Regards,
Amit Seth.

A very warm greetings Mr. Seth.

Nice to hear from you. Few things i would like to say about me and have few queries too.

Firstly, though an electronics engineer i m not working as it. I am working on a multiple profile. Having said that i mean simultaneously i am a testing team member (have learned different automization tools), techincal writer, creative developer and also work as a BDE ( Just to mention i have written a mission statement for my company, have designed and developed the marketing brochures and presenations for customers abroad and local, have designed the website and written all the contents. ). At times i do code also!!!

Now as i have involved myself in varied domain, i feel i need to specialize in one, so to acquire a place where i can use all the learned skills.

To be at a management level is something i always look for. So have chosen to do HR or GM.

Would like to ask as you mentioned "If you do have interest in HR then go ahead. It has a very wide scope as well as wide area to cover up. As much as depth you will move in this field your interest will be more focused". By this what exactly you meant. In a way can u be more specific about the areas of scope after doing an HR. Also, what i would be doing into this feild to be more focused?

There are some more queries which i would be asking on the daily basis.

With warm regards

Thanks

Miss Nistha,
Sorry to reply you late.
Seems you have a lot of experience in your sector, starting from development, testing, Technical writer, BDE.. so definitely you must have an experience of more than 3 years.
Anyways i told the same because i think your interest is to move to Management team.. and definitely by knowingly all these can say surely that HR would be a good platform for you. As you have been involved in writing and making Mission, vision and others for a Company. So it will be a great experience for you to make Induction manual, making HR policy and making other amendments. And being involved in all these activities that means you will be in the Top Management.
Keep in touch..

Amit Seth.
