Thanks Rakhi.
There are many things these Maharishis and Lord Krishna has written keeping in mind the future requirements.
I think they predicted the future long back, and that is why we are using the excerpts and Shlokas from GEETA, RAMAYANA and words of other people as well.
I generally start my training program and seminars with any of this quote.

Hi Archna ..

Wat a Profound issue .. No doubt we ourselves are unaware of wat we are capable of doing .. The Human Potential seeks no boundaries .. in no terms .. Be it be in any aspects , situations , capacities . Human Power ( both Physical Stamina & Intellect ..) cannot be confined to boundaries ..

Regarding the various veiws presented , Of course Prof Laxman has indeed touched upon some great insights .. from the Vedic angle ..

I'm also in the same boat as anchal of being an 'HR BABY' .. Have choosen to xplore this area of quantifying people's potential and performance , their attitudes and behaviours .. And I surely aspire to be in this race of 'HR PIONEERS' ..

But i certainly see the 'HR profession' representation starting on the higher echelons of the society . Now every successful person is tagged with a People Specialist first before his area of operation ..

We HR people would surely make a mark and which wud be recognized with due respect ... In a Big way...

Well its nice that you start your training sessions with these thoughts, they are very positive.
Have you read any of Robin Sharma's books, his recent title "the greatness guide" is very good, things that are in the book are very obvious, but rarely implemented. A little focused effort makes things very different.

Hi!

What all maharishi said is true and very motivating but the fact is that we r learning these things most of the time by the interpretation done by foreign authors. To substantiate the point further i add following embodiments :

There is a need to delve deep in an untouched area so far as to how HRM concepts and culture building practices were widely prevalent in ancient India and how Indians were really the precursors and founding fathers of all management principles and practices being labelled as 'Modern Management' by western countries. Chanakya was the world's first management guru much before the Peter F Drucker, Lord Krishna was the example of worlds best Leader and Vidur was the greatest strategician but very little work has been done on the management aspects of great Indian masters.

the need of the hour is to study and systematically translate these ancient theoritical and academic findings into relevant and practical managerial applications as is being done by foreigners. Kautilya's 'Arthshastra', Lord Krishna 'Geeta" are great treasures of such ideas, while king Vikramaditya and king Agrasen propounded theories which have been adopted by western masters in the form of 'Modern Management.

In yet another embodiment : SWOT analysis (9.1.1); Corporate governance (1.19.34); Handling employees; selection of employees and theory of Motivation - Sama (counselling), Dana (offering of gifts), Danda (Punishments), Bheda (creating a split) (1.5.4-5); wealth creation (9.4.26), role of a consultant (1.15.2,35,40), information (1.15.20-21) are these concepts which we are using in the name of modern management are actually derived from Chanakaya Arthashastra and niti as evident by the shloka/sukti no. mentioned within brackets.

Similarly the concepts derived by the so called Drucker / Kotler / Robbins are very well mentioned in Geeta and other upnishads.

Adding to What Prof Lakshmanan was saying, As long as the ego exists there would be differences. once the ego dies and we start seeing the universal Self in everyone peace will reign. Though this thought is out of portion it's nice to know this.
We can talk about all meditation (TM) and other stuffs But It is Not difficlut to practice as everyone gives as a reason to do.
Start realising the Self in You, it would help you to open your eyes and see the self in the other people.
No book can make us Spiritualist coz We are spiritualist people. Oue mind covers the truth and makes us believe the fact. Remember Truth overtakes Fact.

Dear All,
The Excerpt by Archana is very excellent. In fact we can gain more knowledge on management strategies from Arthasashtra.
Besides that, If we need to bring the Excerpt given in this context into reality we need to make an personal change within ourselves and our perception about things should change.
This can be brought into practice by using Small hoardings in the Office Canteen and Office Gardens. This either motivates the employee and also gives an postive attitude to the person who wants to be retained in the company who is crossing across challanges in his department.
I think this is a Cultural change which has to be happen by enormous advertisement with in the company and having ownership in their projects.

Thanks for appreciating my efforts.
I really like the idea of putting hoardings of such quotes in the office and motivate them or atleast bring some chanes in the attitude, may be even if just one percent.
Thanks for the idea, I have started looking for the quotes/shlokas to be printed in the office.

You can get these quotes set as screensavers / wallpapers on employees computers or getting them printed on coffee mugs and all..
Another option is to start a forum on ur intranet intranet catering to all such kind of healthy soul inspiring gyan xchange ...
