Dear Seniors,
I am a B.COM Graduate and want to build a career in Payroll.
But I am not very good in mathematics.
so for a career in payroll is it necessary to have a great knowledge in Mathematics?

No Need to master in maths , Just Basic fundamental is more then sufficient i.e Additions ,deductions , Multiplications , Percentages . dividends and XL that s it

Simply , U need to understand the calculation of basic fundamental and calculation of basic,hra and other beneficial from gross. No need to be master in maths.

Dear,
I think there is no need to have great knowledge in mathematics as it is required to have basic knowledge only you must be aware of law, act and provisions which is to be used in calculating for wages. The statutory compliance abide by rules and regulations followed by government obligations need to be exercised.

To learn payroll, you should first start understanding various salary components and how it effect net take home. Get in-depth knowledge of BASIC, HRA, Travel allowance, medical allowance, LTA, PF, ESIC, PT, Bouns, ect.

Hi,
Its really not necessary to have knowledge of Sine Cos and Tan to get into payroll.
All u need is to know the rules and regulations (policies) followed in the organization you are working with/going to join and yes working knowledge of MS excel is very important.
Please note that software is company specific. Please do not go for any institute who claims to be teaching you HR or Payroll.
