I have total 6 years experience in IT, and the company which I work for is my 3rd company. Lets assume A,B and C.
Company A- March-2012 to May-2013
Company B- June-2013 to July-02-2015
Company C-July-01-2015 to Present
I got an offer from a new company (assume D) and I did not get my offer letter but while verifying my documents, hr from Company-D found an overlap in my employment and suggested me to correct by either changing the Last working date in Company B or by changing the Date of Joining in Company C.
Just to give you a background, My actual last working date in Company B was 29th June 2015 but a week after I joined company C, HR from company B sent me the rel and exp letters with 02nd july 2015 as my last working date while I already joined company C on 01st july 2015. I got a call from my service delivery manager and he said they have some issues giving me 29th june 2015 as my last working date and they are extending it to 02nd july 2015. THIS IS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE OF NOT KNOWING THE CONSEQUENCES. Also HR from company B is telling I have filled in time sheet but I don't really remember if I did fill time sheet till 02nd July 2015
So back to first paragraph, as per advise given by hr from Company D I wrote email to company B requesting to change the last working date on rel and exp letters and also I emailed hr in my current company C to see if the date of joining can be changed as there is an overlap. HR from company C replied the next day saying DOJ cannot be changed and I need to sort out with company B and submit the corrected letter to them. And HR from Company B also replied saying they cannot change the date on the letter as it is approved my hr that time.
I am in a VERY BIG TROUBLE and need your inputs asap, please help me!

"I don't really remember if I did fill time sheet till 02nd July 2015", (this part, I don't understand). Had you joined in Company C on 1st July, then there is no possibility of you reporting to B on that date. May be you went to B to collect documents on the morning of 2nd July, swiped your card at the gate, hence time sheet has recorded as 2nd July.
Tell the same to company D and try to convince them. In case their Employee portal doesn't allow the dates to be entered like this, mention last date as 2 Jul 2015 in B and 1st day as 3rd Jul 2015 in Company C.
Its not big trouble as you fear. Don't worry

In Private Employment if your current Employer really wants you , they can accept your explanation and forget the issue.However in Public Employment it may have an impact for continuity of Service.Keep trying for rectification.
