My reply

Dear Justin Babu,

Greetings from a Passionate Trainer, Mentor, Coach, Counselor and Positive Motivator(Motivational Speaker).

in my ex-company, I had offered my COUNSELING SERVICES, COACHED, MOTIVATED and SHARED MY KNOWLEDGE with various teams on various topics like TEAM BUILDING/WORK, SUPERVISORY EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION, INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIP, BODY LANGUAGE, EMAIL ETIQUETTE, SELF MANAGEMENT, & STRESS MANAGEMENT. I never considered as it was training them but, i introduced the STRATEGY called "KNOWLEDGE SHARING".

I never considered any employee as week or strong. I only viewed them as either competent or incompetent. My major focus was developing their competencies by offering knowledge transfer wherein they were COACHED(group) to acquire relevant skills and knowledge.

Every employee is a achiever and a performer, but there are certain factors making them either

- slow down or

- not to perform as per expectations or

- just work without taking complete accountability or

- not to take compete responsibility etc.

The External factors are

- IN-EFFICIENT TEAM LEADER/SUPERVISOR/MANAGER/MANAGEMENT,

- IN-EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL TECHNIQUES,

- DELAY IN RECEIVING HIKE IN PERFORMANCE.

- DEMOTIVATING AMBIANCE/ENVIRONMENT/WORK CULTURE,

- LACK OF LEARNING CULTURE IN ORGANISATION and may be lot more.

- A ROLE WHICH IS OF NOT THEIR INTEREST.

Internal Factors

- BAD ATTITUDE

- NO POSITIVE THINKING. Hence once cannot develop a Positive Mental Attitude.

- Lack of SELF CONFIDENCE due to FEAR OF FAILURES or one does not like TAKING RISK

It all depends upon how you treat and perceive Team members. If you consider them as a week team, you will end-up working with week team. If you think positive, positive things will happen as you keep releasing enormous amount of POSITIVE ENERGY.

Let me know if i can be of any help to you as i believe in learning as much as i can.

With profound regards

Abdul Khadir

Dear Mr.Khadir

Thanks for starting this thread.

What you have mentioned as the factors of achieving or not achieving are external and it is known fact that different people process information differently. Every experience is only just a thought.

In my interactions with many Managers & Executives, it was startling to know that yes, these factors mentioned by you, may contribute but it's more about the inner game we all play, the frame of reference.

It's about the meta-programmes which results in habitual patterns of thinking, decision making and behaving. So an effective coach / trainer should recognize the patterns because there could be times when a company's policies, rules, procedures, the culture could all be fantastic yet there would few under achievers (not weak).

Then of course if we talk about team work, it is pertinent to focus on team orientation, communication, support ( a desire to help each other) and the processes and the impact of values on teams. It also good to identify the motivational direction (again a meta program) of an individual within a group.

Thanks
