hi all,
Asper my knowledge is concern we commit to the employees on the basis of annual salary (eg; 2 lacs per annum).
variation in no of days in a month will not effect the month salary because when we talk about month salary we divide or multiply the salary with the same no of days.
Eg: for feb :
16600/28 *28 =16600
for March :
16600/31*31=16600
When we are dividing the salary with no.of days in a month we need to calculate no. of present days for that particular no.of days in a month.

You should consider the actual number of days as per the calendar month for the first month's pay calculation. Please find attached a short note illustrating the problem in using a fixed number of days (such as 30 or 31 for pay calculation).
The same logic applies for the calculation of last month's pay when an employee leaves an organization in the middle of a month.

It should be depend on the month 30 / 31 days only. if you have to calculate attendance, U have to final cut of days of every months & the payments due date. regards, Rajendra

Hi
I'm in fully agreement to Mr. Sanjay Mistry, because we should take entire month days into consideration.
Firstly, its based on attendance cycle of the organisation.
Ideal calculation would be
Total no. of days in a month - Unpaid days = Paid days
Let me know in case further information required on the same.

Dear All,
In our company i calculated the payroll on the total days in month i.e.
Mr. XYZ worked for 30 days in Nov-09, salary will be;
10000/30*30 = 10000
for example they worked for 28 days in the same month;
10000/30*28 = 9333
this is correct or not but in our company i am doing just like this.
plz suggest me.
thanks,

hi swetha,
according to minimum wages we have to pay for 26 days,otherwise we have different in every month like 30, 31, or in febrauary 28 days, so 26 days is common and easy to workout, better than 30 or 31.
