I would like to know the overtime policy of an average company for both operational staff and production staff. My company operates 6 days a week and offers overtime. However, there are employees in the operational staff (non-production) who also work extra hours. How should we compensate their additional hours worked on weekdays and off days?

Additionally, I would like to understand the overtime policy for the production department as well.

There is no difference in the treatment of overtime among departments or employees. The only exception is that an employee with supervisory and managerial responsibilities and authorities shall not be eligible for overtime. For all others, including employees in operations, overtime is applicable. However, for those whose work involves traveling, like sales executives, overtime is not applicable.

Overtime Details

Overtime can be for the hours an employee stays back in a day or for the work done on a weekly off or holiday. In the case of working on weekly off days, in addition to payment of wages/salary at double the rate, the employee should be given a compensatory off as well.
