Apprenticeship schemes are mandatory for IT companies to follow as well. What is the process for it? Does a company need to enroll on the NAPS portal?

We are a software development company that offers services and products in technologies such as Java, .Net, Data Analytics, and Software Testing. Can B.E/B.Tech/MCA freshers also avail themselves of this scheme? What should be the minimum stipend for these individuals, and what should be the minimum duration of the apprenticeship?

Apprenticeship Engagement Requirements

All industries with 30 or more employees, including indirect employees, must engage apprentices under NAPS/NATS. This requirement is mandatory, including for the IT/ITES industry.

Apprentice Engagement Limits

You can engage up to 15% of apprentices based on your headcount. In Karnataka and Maharashtra, it's permitted up to 25%.

Stipend and Tenure

The stipend varies between NAPS and NATS, and you can offer more as well. The minimum tenure under NATS is 6 months, and you can engage apprentices for up to 1 year.
