Hello friends, I have recently joined the aesthetics industry. Due to certain internal changes in management, the CEO of the company wants everyone involved to be genuine. Therefore, I have been given the responsibility to check the quality of everyone's work.

While reviewing the personal data of all employees, I discovered that one of our employees had not submitted his degree certificate upon joining; he had only provided a photocopy of it. Upon closer inspection, I noticed something suspicious. I directly asked the employee to submit the original certificate for verification, but his responses raised my suspicions even further. Subsequently, I contacted the university from which he claimed to have graduated and found that no such person had graduated from that institution. It became evident that he had submitted a fake certificate.

Despite the employee's good reputation in the company and his excellent work performance, I am unsure how to address this issue. Remaining silent could result in negative consequences for me.

I seek your advice, friends. Additionally, what actions do you think the management will take against this employee? Are there any potential legal implications for the employee?

Thank you.

Fake degrees are not uncommon. When you checked with the University, did you inform your superior or suo motu quietly inquire? Put the matter in writing and officially inform your HoD. Ask the employee to submit their original documents and then get them verified. If the reply is negative, the company should take action. Do not hush things up or be silent. False degrees are a real problem area, so be active in stopping such irregularities.
