Before joining any organization, submission of photocopies is mandatory. However, I am concerned that when submitting Xerox copies, I may accidentally submit forged documents to the employer. If I can submit only soft copies and inform the employer that they can request Xerox copies if needed, then submitting Xerox copies would not be my responsibility. Would this approach be acceptable? I want to avoid unnecessary stress as I have faced difficulties in the past due to similar situations. Your suggestions would be appreciated.

Employers have to ask employees to submit self-attested xerox copies along with the department forms for ESIC, EPF, and other welfare schemes. If the employer denies or neglects this request, the employer cannot submit the contributions of employees without KYC verification.

Please note that there is no logical or genuine reason for your stance that you only want to provide soft copies, not Xerox copies, of all documents supporting your eligibility for the position. If you do not comply, how will you be allowed to report for your joining? As long as one does not comply with the XYZ requirement and does not report with the necessary documents/supporting materials as a compliant person, there is a chance that the person cannot justify being fit for employment. Why make a simple thing complicated and then run for a solution? An organization is looking to hire a responsible, disciplined, mature, and compliant person who would bring in better work practices and a wonderful feeling of peace and serenity to always make better joints.
Such things should not be asked in a forum like CiteHR. Members here are to share and express themselves openly to seek knowledge from experiences and successes to practice and execute in their routine.

I am not clear. You are willing to submit a forged soft copy but not a forged xerox. The logic you are giving is that giving a forged xerox copy is a criminal offense. Let me enlighten you. Providing a forged soft copy is an equal offense, and you can end up in jail just the same way. Under the Information Technology Act of 2000, a soft copy is equivalent to a physical copy. They can trace your submission and prove that you have the forged copies.

No I m telling that I m giving all Xerox and soft copies of original docs but if by mistake forged Xerox copy submitted along with original Xerox of same doc then it is also need to worry.
