Hi,

I have a problem regarding the new amendment of the Bonus Act 1965, Section 2(13) 12. Section 12 pertains to the ceiling for calculation purposes. It has now been raised to Rs 3,500/- per month. My question is, what amount will be calculated for amounts above Rs 3,500/-? Is it the total amount he gains, or only Rs 3,500/-? This is very urgent. If anyone knows about this, please email me.

ceiling limit is rised up till 10,000/- above then are not compulsorily eligible for bonus, and if you were paid bonus to above then any personnel, then you can not break the chain..........

Thank you for your response. The main issue is that it is very harmful to all employees who have a basic DA below Rs 10,000. This is because it will be calculated as Rs. 3500 only. This means that employees who receive a basic salary plus DA exceeding 3500 but below 10,000 will only take home 8600. Am I right? If this is true, it will result in a significant loss for them.
