Hello, Sr. HR professional, I have two years of experience as an HR Executive in an IT/Software company. For the last two years, I have been involved in both profiles because I have worked in a small-scale company until now. So, I am the single person who has to handle the entire recruitment life cycle as well as payroll and other HR operations.

This time, I want to change my job. The reason is that I want to join a big organization for my personal and professional growth. However, I am unable to make a decision now on whether I should apply for a Recruiter or Generalist profile.
Sometimes, I feel irritated by recruitment because our company has a 6-day working week and working hours are 9 hours. As a result, most experienced candidates refuse to join us. Additionally, I have to handle employee attendance, listen to their work-related issues, manage their appraisals, payroll, exit formalities if anyone leaves the company, and many other day-to-day activities.
Please suggest to me: should I search for a job in HR Admin/Operation/Generalist profile, or should I apply for an IT Recruiter position?
Kindly reply!
Thanks,

Rakhi, you can choose either a recruitment or HR generalist profile, depending on what attracts you more. Don't be confused; just list down what you like about Recruitment. Ask yourself, "Do you really have that passion for interviewing people (job satisfaction)?" If so, then go for it. In the case of an HR generalist profile, think, "Do you enjoy dealing with a variety of HR functions?" If so, then go for it. The choice is yours, so choose wisely.
