I have worked at a corporate company. I resigned from that job on May 31, 2013. My notice period was 2 months, and I mentioned my relieving date as July 30, 2013, in the notice. However, the management relieved me 10 days before the mentioned date due to no work. I had 23 days of paid leave, but they did not settle the money. How can I propose this in my old organization?

My company's leave policy also mentions providing payment on a pro-rata basis for paid leaves.

You are eligible and have the right to receive that benefit if the clauses you mentioned are correct. You can contact your HR personnel for assistance. If they are not responding, send out a detailed email copying your reporting manager and a senior person in HR.

Wait for a few more days. If they respond, there are various ways to get your benefit. A few are:

1. You can file a case.
2. Report the issue to the labor department.

However, this will take some time, and you will have to spend some money. A suggestion would be to write a detailed letter to the company stating your problem in a polite manner to get your money without any problem. No company can hold any employee's benefit for more than 180 days after their resignation, so they won’t hold it.

Addressing Early Relieving and Unsettled Leave Payment

Since management has relieved you 10 days earlier, it is your salary loss. On top of it, if they are not paying for the balance leave to your account, it is an injustice.

However, instead of going for legal matters, try to be humble, polite, and diplomatic. Your diplomatic approach will help you in this recovery.
