Seeking Ideas for HR Initiatives
Can you please help me with some new ideas on HR initiatives? To start with, we have initiated a communication system whereby I interact with employees on a regular basis and try to keep them motivated. Also, we have appointed a factory medical officer in the company to enable a regular and free medical check-up for the employees. Can you suggest any more ideas?

Great initiatives you have started! You can further enhance employee engagement by organizing activities such as Employee Birthday celebrations, Monthly Meetings, On-the-spot Rewards & Recognition, Inter-Team Competitions, and Quiz contests.
Best of luck!

You can also go for training seminars. This training can be related to soft skills, communication, and team building. You can also approach departmental heads to initiate functional training.
I am working in the food industry where we have outlets at many prime locations in Mumbai. For advancement and as a training initiative, we have started giving basic computer training to our outlet supervisors. This initiative has been very helpful as all these supervisors communicate via emails even for basic requirements, weekly updates, and monthly attendance.
Shweta Iyer, were you working with Think People by any chance?

If you have laborers and heavy machinery, you can suggest strict safety policies and create some effective safety tips and safety measures posters to display around the premises. It's not a big initiative, yet a small step towards safety.

1. We can also have a suggestion box where employees can share ideas for improvement.
2. We can add "Employee of the Month" on the notice board along with an appreciation letter to keep the staff motivated.
3. Start company blogs on the intranet.
4. Celebrate festivals with themes and have dress/color codes for all.
