I am a Bachelor's in Hotel Management with a specialization in Hotel Human Resources as well as Training & Development. I would like to ask you a question which I was asked in an interview for the position of Human Resources Executive in a five-star hotel.

Interview Question

"There is an employee who has been working in the organization for 25 years. With one month left until his retirement, he brings a certificate from the government stating that he still has 2 years remaining before reaching the age limit to work."

As a Human Resource Professional, what would be your decision: retirement or extending the service period?

Thanking you,

Sincerely,
Pashupati

Dear Pasupathi, In the appointment letter, you would have given his date of birth and the retirement age. Kindly go through the same. Regards, Sreekumar.N
