Sir,
Recently, after 2 and a half years of leaving my earlier job, I came to know that my PF funds balance (accumulated as of my date of leaving the job in Surat and transferring to Vadodara with another employer) were not transferred from the Surat PF to the Vadodara PF office. This was due to a mistake by my current employer in filling out Form 13. As advised by the Surat PF office, a revised Form 13 was filed and submitted with them, and the Surat PF office has now transferred the funds to the Vadodara PF office.
However, they have not credited any interest on the above amount. Simply put, approximately 75k balance was transferred without any interest for 2 and a half years. Upon inquiry, the officials are stating that due to the mistake, they cannot pay interest, and only the principal amount is being transferred.
I believe this is unfair since the funds were not withdrawn by me and were always with the Surat PF office. Therefore, I am definitely eligible for interest. Now, the question arises as to which PF office should credit my interest – Surat PF or Vadodara PF office?
Please guide me on the course of action.
Thank you in anticipation.

Surat PF Office should have given interest for the amount that remained with them. If it is not credited, you can ask for interest. You may send a letter to EPF Office for clarification and wait for the reply. If no reply is given, then you can proceed with a petition under the provisions of the Right to Information Act.
