My contractor didn’t pay the ESIC monthly remittance for a few people in the past year. How can we pay ESIC now?

You should register the workers of the contractor working in your plant under your ESI registration first and then process their ESI contribution. You can deduct the amount you paid, along with interest and damages payable for delayed payment, from the amount payable to the contractor. Also, ensure that the contractor has not paid the ESI in respect of these employees under his registration as well.
