Approaching the Principal Employer for Salary Issues

If your contractor is not paying your salary within seven days of the close of the wage month, you can approach the principal employer for whom you work. He is liable to pay it to you. The contractor may be innocent, though he is bound to pay wages even if he has not received the bill amount from the principal employer. However, the principal employer is also responsible for ensuring that you receive your salaries on time. Therefore, please talk to the principal employer directly. If he also closes the doors, then you should take the step of approaching the Labour Officer concerned with a dispute of non-payment of wages.

If the situation is like this, I am concerned about whether the contractor remits ESI and PF on time.
