Hi all,
I'm a 2016-2020 batch BTech student from a state university. I had a backlog in the 3rd Semester that I could not clear until the 7th Semester, so I had to write the exam in March 2021. Exams were delayed significantly because semesters were running late due to Covid-19. I was very confident that I would clear the exam this time, so I started applying for jobs from April 2021. I got an opportunity to appear for the Infosys exam on 16th May 2021, which I cleared (although I am still waiting for the backlog exam result). Following the exam, I attended the interview and was given a joining date of 21st June 2021. We were required to confirm our joining before the 21st, so I confirmed it, hoping for a favorable result as the exam had gone well, and I anticipated having a provisional degree certificate within 2-3 weeks of joining.
However, the results were announced on 23rd June 2021, more than 3 months later, and I received the exact same marks as my previous attempt, indicating that I had not cleared the backlog.
I have now applied for re-evaluation, but that process will likely take up 2 months. Even if re-evaluation does not help, I will have to sit for the next exam in December-January and will receive the results by March 2022. I seek guidance on what steps I should take next.
Additionally, how much time do we have to submit all our documents, and what issues could arise if I have a degree from 2021/2022 instead of the expected 2020?
Please advise on the best course of action in this situation.

In this situation, it is crucial to communicate promptly with Infosys HR or the relevant department regarding your educational status and the expected delay in obtaining your degree. Here are some steps you can consider:
1. Inform Infosys: Reach out to the HR department at Infosys and explain your current educational situation, including the backlog and the expected delay in receiving your degree.
2. Request Extension: Request an extension for submitting your documents due to the circumstances. Provide a clear timeline of when you expect to receive your degree.
3. Alternative Documentation: In case of further delays, inquire if Infosys accepts alternative documentation such as provisional certificates or official letters from the university.
4. Be Transparent: Maintain transparency throughout the process and keep Infosys updated on any progress or changes in your situation.
5. Prepare for Contingencies: Be prepared for the possibility of needing to retake the exam or complete the backlog. Discuss with Infosys how this may impact your employment status.
6. Understand Policy: Familiarize yourself with Infosys' policies regarding document submission and educational requirements to better navigate the situation.
By proactively addressing the issue and maintaining open communication with Infosys, you can work towards a resolution that aligns with both your educational pursuits and your career goals.
