Is Form-V mandatory for Contract Labour License Renewal in Karnataka?
We have a contract agreement for 200 employees, with our principal employer currently utilizing only 50 laborers and refusing to provide Form-V, citing a reduction in manpower strength. In this scenario, do we require Form-V after submitting the renewal application online, or will the labor department request Form-V when issuing the renewed license?

As per my knowledge, Form V is applicable only at the time of applying for a new license. It is not required in the renewal process.
If your contract is for 200 employees and presently you have deployed only 50 employees, I still believe you should renew the license. If you don't renew it and at any point during the contract period the deployment reaches 50 or more, it will be treated as non-compliance under the Act.
The renewal requires only nominal fees (of course, incidental expenses will be extra). However, if you don't renew or surrender the license and it is required again in the future, you will have to pay the Security Deposit and License Fees again.
