Understanding Basic Salary Discrepancies

As per my knowledge and even as per the payslip, my basic salary was 3500/-, 4000/-, and 4500/- in respective years. However, I came to know that my basic salary is not the same as given on the payslip when I resigned and was informed to pay 41,394/- @ 13,798/- to serve a 3-month notice period. When I inquired about the difference and definition of basic salary, the concerned persons explained that basic salary is determined based on the amount contributed by an employer to an employee's PF. This was confirmed during the final settlement.

However, the problem is that practically, I didn't receive the basic salary as mentioned above.

Respected sir/madam, please provide your valuable advice to help me resolve this issue.
