Dear sir, please guide me on what the Telangana government's leave policy is under the Factories Act 1948. How many casual leaves should be given to the workers in the calendar year irrespective of earned leaves? Employees covered under ESIC are not advisable for sick leaves, but those who are not covered under ESIC should be provided sick leaves. Could you please advise on how many sick leaves should be given in a calendar year?

Earned Leave Policy

For earned leave, it is typically one day for every 20 days worked in a calendar year. How many casual leave days should be granted in a calendar year, and how many sick leave days should be allocated in the same period?

Thank you for your guidance.

Telangana Government Leave Policy Under the Factories Act 1948

Please guide me on the Telangana government leave policy under the Factories Act 1948. I am not specifically aware of it.

Casual Leaves

How many casual leaves should be given to the workers in the calendar year irrespective of earned leaves? It's purely at management's discretion. Generally, this count varies from 5 to 12, and the choice is yours. For factories, it is not mandatory to provide casual leave.

Sick Leaves

Employees covered under ESIC are not advisable for sick leaves, but those not covered under ESIC should be provided sick leave. You can frame the leave policy in that manner or, if you have standing orders, get this clause incorporated. Please guide on the number of sick leaves to be given in a calendar year. Generally, it is paid, ranging from 6 to 12 per year, and the choice is yours. For factories, it is not mandatory to provide sick leave.

Earned Leaves

One earned leave is typically granted for every 20 days worked in a calendar year, as per the Factory Act.
