I am working for an IT company, and my gross salary is 50,000. The notice period to serve in my company is 1 month. I submitted my resignation on 19th May 2017, so the relieving date would be 18th June 2017.
I was not aware that my last two days of the notice period would be on a weekend, and the company did not update me. Last week, they informed me that my last working day is 16th June. Therefore, I would like to know if the company has to pay me a salary for the 17th and 18th of June, which are weekends.
Leave Encashment and Salary Clarification
I have 27 leaves that can be encashed, and the company mentioned that since I am leaving on the 16th, I will receive a full salary for the month of June. Out of the 27 leaves, 14 would be compensated against non-working days in June, and the remaining 13 leaves will be paid as part of the salary for July. I am unsure if this is the correct procedure. If not, could you please clarify the correct process?
Pro-rata Basis Explanation
The company also stated that leave encashment will follow the same parameters as salary processing but on a pro-rata basis. What does this mean exactly?
PF Contributions and Leave Encashment
Additionally, the company mentioned that I will receive all dues in two months as salary, i.e., for June and July. They will be contributing to the PF in July and August, respectively. If the company is encashing leaves in July as part of the salary, can they make PF contributions?
I might sound a bit confused, but please help me clarify these matters. Thank you.

Dear Mihir,
Please find replies to your queries below:
1. LWD means Last Working Day, and as your LWD was the 16th, your company has considered it as the 16th only.
2. Many companies pay leave encashment only on the basic salary, but if your company wants to pay it on the gross amount, they will process it as part of your normal salary.
3. I did not understand your question.
4. YES, they can contribute to PF if they are processing it as a part of your salary.
