Hello all,

I need suggestions for the following things (FMCG industry based in Gujarat):

1) Can we maintain a muster roll in electronic form, i.e., in Excel?
2) Can we maintain a wage register in a systematic electronic form, and is a signature required from employees whose salary is credited to a bank account?
3) How do we fill out FORM NO. 14 (Prescribed under Rule 87 Notice of period of work for adult workers)?

Kindly provide details on the above points as soon as possible.

Dear Mr. Imran,

First of all, check the notification in your state regarding the maintenance of electronic muster rolls. If there is any notification by the labour department, you can maintain it.

Form No. 14 is for leave with wages, which you can fill out according to the format. Include the opening balance, current year balance of EL/PL, leave availed, and deductions from the balance. The form should be signed by the respective employee.
