Hi all,

We want to start a business analyst group in our company. Could somebody help me by giving the syllabus on what training must be imparted to a coding guy with three years of experience to make him a business analyst?

As per my knowledge, a Business Analyst requires skills like:
- Precision questioning
- Requirement gathering
- Eliciting information, etc., and many other skills.

Would appreciate your help on this, buddies... it's an urgent requirement.

Reshma

Hi,

To create a business analysis report, the following details are required:

1. Data Analysis
2. Forecasting Change
3. Forecasting Demand and Supply in terms of business and market, not just product
4. Market Analysis

Furthermore, the above data needs to be divided into primary data and secondary data. No business analysis is complete without analyzing the company's own business strategy and business plans. Additionally, it takes a minimum of seven people to conduct business analysis for a mid-size company.

Thank you,
Octavious

Hello, In continuing with what Octavius just mentioned, carry out a little bit of groundwork and understand the profile of BAs hired in other similar organizations. Companies hire BAs for various roles, including requirement gathering, delivery, project management, and business development. Depending on where you plan to place them, you could provide them with some inputs on:

1. Basic soft skills
2. Cross-cultural sensitivity
3. Data crunching
4. Basic selling skills

Also, take up a session on understanding your company's strategies and how you are looking to add value from their end. I hope this contributes to your understanding.
