Hello seniors,

Is there any rule that an employee has to use only 1 sick leave during a period of three months? Is there any rule for using sick leave for a month? Or can employees use sick leave as per their illness?

Awaiting an urgent response.

Your query is not clear. However, normally, the policies across industries state that sick leave can be availed by an employee when they are absent from duty due to sickness and upon the production of a medical certificate. No one can predict when an employee may fall sick, so where does the three-month period come into play?

Hi Rashmika,

SL can be availed only on medical grounds, and there is no rule as you mentioned earlier. You should ask for a medical certificate if an employee wishes to avail of SL for more than 2 days.

For your information, WO & PH can be prefixed and suffixed to SL.

I hope this information is helpful.

Hi Rashmika,

Sick leave can only be availed on medical grounds, and there is no rule as you mentioned earlier. If an employee wishes to take sick leave for more than two days, they should be asked to provide a medical certificate. Additionally, for your information, weekends (WO) and public holidays (PH) can be attached both before and after sick leave.

I hope this information is helpful.
