I need a brief explanation on EFP, pension fund, and UAN. When will one be eligible for receiving the monthly pension and have the following queries:
1. What is the minimum/maximum amount one can receive as a pension under this scheme, and how is it calculated?
2. If a person leaves the service before the required age (58 years), can they still contribute to the EPF and pension fund? If yes, in which EPF account should the contributions be made (would it be the last organization's PF)?
3. What is the minimum number of years an EPF account (compared to the pension fund account) needs to be continued to receive the benefit of a lifetime pension after 58 years (I believe it is 10, but what if there is a gap of several months between two organizations)?

Minimum pension is Rs. 1000. There is no upper limit. The pension calculation for pensionable service is pensionable salary x pensionable service / 70.
For pension contribution, he/she should be a member of EPF. After relieving from service, pension contribution is not possible.
The minimum service to get a pension from EPS is 10 years. The gap between service is not a matter of concern.
Whether EPF is credited to EPFO or PF Trust, EPS contribution is independent.

Hi friends, I am Suresh from Chennai and need your help on PF and Pension. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out. My current PF balance (Employer + Employee) is ₹2,39,617, and the pension balance is ₹54,229. It would be really helpful if someone could calculate the total amount for PF (EE + ER) and Pension at a 4% increase year on year. I plan to retire at the age of 55 years, and my current age is 34 years.
Current PF Deductions
Here is my current deduction from the PF account:
• Employee contribution: ₹1,908
• Employer contribution: ₹658
• Pension Scheme: ₹1,250
Thanks a ton in advance.
