Please help with this matter. I went to India on 12th March and I sent my resignation letter to my manager from India on 23rd March. After I came to the UAE on 22nd April, I informed my company to cancel my visa. They told me to wait. I have been waiting in my room until now. In the meantime, I have met my boss in the office several times and I have called him multiple times. However, he keeps telling me the same story that they will cancel it. Finally, I discovered that they reported me to labor and immigration as absconding from the company. Please help me understand what I can do to resolve this matter. How can I address this issue?

First of all, please note that I am NOT an immigration expert. However, I am also a little confused. When you returned to the UAE, on which visa did you enter? Is it the one you now wish to cancel? In that case, you will automatically be classified as illegal, which has serious consequences.

On the other hand, if you entered on a fresh visa, then you have no issue. I assume that you have a copy of the letter of resignation, which you can show to the authorities if required. If the former is true, then you should leave the country immediately.

In any case, you should seek the advice of a UAE immigration specialist.
