Hi, I am working with an MNC in night shifts, where I have signed a bond for 2 years, and they have taken all the original certificates from me. Now, I have completed 1 year and would like to quit the company. However, we need to pay 60,000 to get back the original certificates. Is it legal to claim our certificates? Can anyone help me out?
Thanks in advance...

Employer's Right to Original Certificates
No employer has the right to take the original certificate from an employee for whatever purpose. Send a resignation letter along with a request letter asking to hand over the original certificate. If they still refuse, consider filing a police case against the concerned person.

Thank you for the valuable answer. Not only I, but all the employees have signed the bond and submitted the certificates. Some of them have already paid $60,000 for the certificates and left the company. Will it be really helpful to take the help of a lawyer or the police? Kindly let me know the process.

While respecting the views of Mehrunisa, I still feel that all the terms and conditions of employment were agreed upon by Bhavya, and accordingly, she took up the assignment.
Knowing all the policies of the current company, most people tend to leave the job because they start getting better opportunities and start citing all reasons on earth to avoid paying the amount.
To the best of my knowledge, the MNC where Bhavya is working should have taken an acceptance letter from Bhavya to hold the certificates.
I suggest that Ms. Bhavya should pay the necessary amount and complete the exit formalities smoothly to avoid any inconvenience.
