Hi friends and Seniors, I am working in a large organization, and my boss—not my reporting manager but the owner of the organization—asked me during a promotion interview with whom I would work: with the company brand name or with the owner of the company.
Understanding the Question
What is the message behind this question, and what would be my answer? Please help, as he will call me again tomorrow for the same, and my promotion depends on this. My owner has lots of experience about life and human beings.

Both are important in our life; they are two sides of the same coin. Successful bosses have good communication skills, which they learn from people, including their employees. We always learn from successful bosses. As far as brand is concerned, it is also important in our life. When we purchase a car, we choose a brand, and we are also reflected by our organization's name in the future.
In my opinion, we are working for the company brand name.

I would suggest that you look deeper and find what you want. Be honest; at 24, working for a brand name will earn you credibility. Your CV will automatically gain weight if you have worked with a TIER-I company or a top employer.
However, working with an owner will ensure you learn to see the business through their eyes, no matter what role you work in. Smaller organizations offer a higher degree of responsibility with greater expertise as there are fewer people to handle the job.
More importantly, in large organizations, employees get pigeonholed into a set of tasks. Whenever there is a new responsibility, it is given to the best and often the most senior deserving a promotion. In contrast, small firms have different criteria for assigning responsibilities. Team bonding is naturally stronger in smaller organizations. In a large organization, you may only see the CEO once a year, whereas in a smaller firm, you would work closely with the CEO. This exposure is invaluable, especially when gained early in your career, as it accelerates professional growth.
The choice remains yours. Please identify your priorities and then communicate them. Wish you all the best!

I do agree with (Cite Contribution). The brand may matter; however, along with experience and knowledge, the brand will carry more weight. Knowledge and experience develop through performing various roles, which you can primarily do in smaller organizations.

It all depends on your own choice. You have to ask yourself, what do you want? There is more than one view.
If you really need more money, select accordingly.
Benefits of Working in a Smaller Company
If you want to gain knowledge, it's better to select a smaller company with your owner by your side. You would gain a lot in a smaller company where you will be able to work in all the departments, have the liberty to mix and match with all the top bosses of your contemporaries. You will gain confidence to rise above all, to show your mettle, and manage any situation within a shorter period. Who knows, you may have the chance of becoming either a partner in the same company or have your own.
Benefits of Working with a Brand Name
On the contrary, if you wish to be identified with big names, then without hesitation, your choice should be a brand name. With this, you can get the required recognition and fame, get a better half, but you will hardly have the liberty of gaining overall knowledge. You will have to work in a particular allotted area only at times, which may take a comparatively longer time. At the same time, your CTC will also be higher.
Apply your mind, analyze, and rise.
All the best.

Thanks to all for your suggestions and replies. I have cleared my interview. I gave the answer with all my emotions, and he really appreciated this. My answer was, "The owner of a company is the real brand ambassador of the company. Only an owner has the ability to take his business from a small unit to a large firm with his vision. If people like me get the chance to work with the owner, it's like a father holding his son's finger and showing him the way to go and how to reach the destiny. In short, I want to work with the owner, sir, with you, sir."
Hope you all like my answer.
