ESIC Benefits for Relocated Employees: Can They Access Services in a New City? - CiteHR

Dear Sir, Good morning. This is Archana Rane from Mumbai. I am working in facilities management. Our employees are located all across India. One of my employees has a query that we previously discussed. Please help me resolve this query. The employee works as a driver in Jamshedpur, and his ESIC number is registered there. However, he has now relocated to Mumbai. I would like to know if, in the case of sickness, he should start receiving his ESIC benefits in Mumbai.

Thank you.

ESI Benefits for Employees Relocating Temporarily

Any employee covered under ESI and moving to another place on duty or leave, etc., has to obtain Form 105. This form allows the employee to access ESI benefits such as medication while they are away from their local ESI dispensary. The employee needs to submit Form 105 along with their ESI card to the nearby ESI dispensary at their temporary residence. This requirement applies to all employees across India. The eligibility for this benefit is for 3 months. If the employee is transferred permanently, necessary arrangements must be made.

Regards,
Kamesh
