Hi Shikha,
I am looking for a short-term course in technical writing. I work as a content writer and want to transition into technical writing or instructional designing. Are both of them the same?
What computer software is mandatory in this line of work? What are the career prospects in this field?
Can somebody help?
Thanks,
Shikha

Hi Shikha,
Technical writing is quite different from content writing. The job involves writing technical documentation like user guides, installation guides, online help, release notes, etc., and sometimes marketing documents. You need to have a flair for writing and learn Help authoring tools such as RoboHelp and Microsoft Word at an advanced level. This will be enough to get started.
A lot of companies offer training courses. Please Google for it. Hope this helps. If you need any further info, write to me at
