Hi all, as all of us are aware, the smartphone is the future for smart communication. Many companies are in the smartphone market and succeeding only by selling smartphones. A smartphone requires an operating system like Android, iOS, Symbian, etc., to run applications and to make a mobile phone a smartphone.

Using Smartphone Technology in HR Functions

Can we use this technology in HR functions? Is anybody already using it for HR activities? Please share your experience or let us start discussing how we can use smartphones for smart HR performance.

Large firms issue Blackberry devices rampantly to senior-level employees and HR; hence, it might rank highest in terms of usage. However, smaller firms might depend on Android phones to manage costs and scale.

Specific usage of applications and platforms such as SharePoint or Xobni would remain limited to certain sectors. I attended a presentation by Mango Springs and found it effective in terms of an in-house social platform. I am not sure if they offer a mobile application for that.
