Hey everyone,

I was going through some reading material online regarding Herzberg's Two-Factor Theory. In some places, job status has been labeled as a hygiene factor, whereas in others, it has been labeled as a motivator. Could someone please clarify which category job status falls under?

Thanks in advance!

Kindly access "The Motivation to Work - Google Books" using the following link: [The motivation to work - Google Books](http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=KYhB-B6kfSMC&pg=PA49&lpg=PA49&d qw=what+is+a+person's+job+status+and+herz berg&source=bl&ots=nhVAUHIBUo& amp;sig=ZZsw1HlW2t35z0tx1E4wK83ejqw&hl=en& amp;amp;ei=FFOyTdHMDYHBhAe525TkDw&sa=X&amp ;amp;oi=book_result&ct=result&resn um=1&ved=0CBcQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q&a mp;amp;f=false).

Job status can provide security in certain areas, such as with Tenured Professors in America. Once they attain this status, they are protected from being fired, unlike non-tenured lecturers and Assistant Professors.

Additionally, consider this question: Would you feel motivated to work solely due to a change in job title, without the accompanying perks such as a company car, spacious office, extra pay, or complimentary medical insurance?

Have a nice day.
