I am Srikanth from Hyderabad. I work in the IT field on .Net. I have over 4 years of experience. Recently, there were some layoffs in our company as part of cost-cutting measures due to the poor financial condition of the company, which led me to resign from my job. Currently, I am on job trials. Can anybody suggest what reason I should tell the HR of the companies when they contact me? Will I be considered for an interview before or after an interview? How should I update my resume? I can't state that I am currently working for a company. Please advise me on this matter.

Hi Shrikant,
Everybody is aware of the Market Collapse. You can mention that we are currently facing a period of resignations due to the recent events.
Reason for the change: Due to the retrenchment, the company has asked many employees to leave.

Hi Srikanth,
Whenever you go for the interview, you can always say that due to the recession, there was a layoff in the company, and because of that, you lost your job. I don't think there is any need to hide this from the HR of other companies.

Hi Ekta,
Thank you for your advice. I have a feeling that there will be fewer chances of my CV getting shortlisted. Actually, I sent my resume to some companies before Christmas, but until now, I haven't received any response from them. So, I was wondering if they prefer candidates who are currently working.
