Hi all,

I am here to request your help in finding a solution to my problem. We are a newly started recruiting firm in the IT division. We have been attempting to develop our database by reaching out to various institutions for their past years' student lists. Unfortunately, we have encountered difficulties as no one is willing to provide us with the list due to our status as a new organization. They are asking for the client companies' list and the number of candidates we have placed so far. Additionally, we do not have accounts on any portals due to financial constraints.

What steps should we take to develop our database? Furthermore, the client companies are hesitant to engage with us due to the same financial issues. What should we do?

Kindly assist us. We have already established the firm, but we are currently at a standstill.

Hi there,

You could probably start an account on social networking sites like Orkut, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc., and try to headhunt through these platforms. Nowadays, at least 7% of recruitments are conducted via social networking sites. I recommend giving these a try.

Hi,

I will be starting a recruitment company in the financial services/consulting/analytics sector this month. I have created a database and will be setting up the portal login. I have the contact details of the talent acquisition teams in targeted companies. However, I am unsure about the legal processes involved and what documents are required. Can you please provide me with a list of required documents and detail the process?

Register with some portal as this is very necessary, then visit small companies first. Ask them for a job position. Work for one position for free and get a contract where, in return, they will offer you 2-3 new positions.

Hi,

I understand your problem in building clients. I think the best solution would be to approach known people/associations whom you have a good rapport with. Ask them to suggest or refer any good persons to help you. From there, you can make a good start.

You can also contact your friend who might be working as recruiters, and they can log in to the portals in their company. Ask them to download the resumes of the candidates based on their skills from one year and create a database out of it.

Hi Tomanjurejeesh,

Few things you have to do are:
1. Take a Job Portal for a month or for a 3-month basis in order to build your database. The best are Naukri and Monster sites. Also, look for other sites that provide you with more IT employee profiles.
2. For building new clients, prepare a good brochure for your company and request a presentation about your company services. Also, ask them to provide sample requirements to work. If you prove yourself in the sample requirements, then the client will continue with the recruitment process with you. You need to build that confidence level strongly.
3. When recruiting recruiters, ensure they are well-exposed to recruitment concepts, processes, technologies, etc. This will make your internal recruiters provide more value and confidence to your company in terms of achieving success with the client's requirements.

If you have any queries, please contact me.

Regards,
Murali Krishna
