On my target sheet, one of the projects is "Exit Interview". From the current practice of holding exit interviews with concerned employees by their respective HR Managers/Heads, I would like to have the same process implemented on the intranet. I am seeking your advice and suggestions on how to proceed with this change and the potential success rate of this strategy.

I will speak from my experience. The company in which I work has Exit Interviews conducted via intranet, where employees are required to fill out the form after accepting their resignation. However, 90% of the time, employees do not take it seriously, and ultimately the HR has to fill out the forms. It doesn't really serve any purpose.

Depending on who is most likely to fill out the exit interview forms (that'll be your high attrition department), there needs to be proper communication on the same by the higher-ups. It doesn't really help because when the employee is leaving, they couldn't care less what the upper management thinks. But it'll achieve the purpose in the case of employees who want to part on good terms with the organization.

Dear Richa,

Thank you for your views. Even the management and I are aware of these facts. It becomes far more difficult when you have almost 30% of employees in the field who do not have direct access to the internet or intranet. However, I just wanted to know if somehow filling out an exit interview form can be made mandatory for the concerned employee before their accounts with the company are settled. Is it feasible to do that? How can it be done?
