Gunjan Hr does not decide the HRA, alloawnces etc. Finance decides it. You need to sit with Finance and decide the best structure for your organization.

normally rate of hra is considered 40-45% of basic + da if da is considered for pf calculation. otherwise 50% of the basic as hra is tax exempted.

Dear All,

Please note that there are no written rules for deciding any allowances.

Your Basic and DA will not be less than minimum wages, and the rest will be as per the management policy and income tax regulations. This includes HRA, Con up to 800/-, Medical up to 1250/-, Education up to 200/-, which will be exempted from Income Tax.

HRA differs from state to state. For example, in TN it's 40%, and in AP it's 50%. As one of the replies intimates, you can get in touch with a Senior Finance guy or with a Senior HR person. You need to provide the details of the employees to get a clear history.

Dear friends,

I am Anand, working as a manager (Admin. Acct). I just want to know whether there is any government act for calculating salary elements (HRA, DA, MA, LTA, and other allowances) or if we can calculate on our own. If anybody knows clearly about this, please send me your reply.

Thank you,
Goodbye
