Hi all!
I need help from a learned HR,, I am an MBA (HR),, I hold more than 8 yrs of corporate experience in different fields (6 yrs in a hospital as Respiratory tech. where i handles admin as well and 18 months in a BPO),,, 1 year of HR experience as an HR executive,,, I would like to know that would my non-HR experience be counted when I go for an HR job or not?
I didn't think of this earlier until I went for this recent interviews,,, the VP-HR and other senior HRs are telling me that I am over qualified for the position of an executive and should apply for the post of Manager or AM- HR since I know how to work in the corporate sector,,, may be I am new to this role,, and my communication skills & subject knowledge is also quiet good...
What are your suggestions plzz and if yes, then what type of questions I might face and their answers hint as well would be highly appreciable.... Waiting for you reply and thanks in advance...

Hello,
The answer to this question will purely depend upon the company that you applied for? I mean for a company which is no more than 1oo employee or something you can be labeled over-qualified but for a large company I don't think so.
You are quite correct when you say that you know how to work in a corporate culture but at the same time the role you are plannin gto go into is a little different. Keeping in mind your 6years exp wherein you also took care about Admin also.
I would suggest you to appear for a few more companies of all size to help you evaluate yourself properly.
Hope this helps!

At your exp level you should be looking at AM & above level. With the level of understanding you earned through the exp will help you to relate you’re self to look for higher positions than what you currently possess.
Before going for interview, based on the JD relate your exp & project your self how you can handle the situation as AM or manager.

Exp level for position varies for different industries & companies. Motivate your self for higher postion...
Any ways you have to choose what is right for you. We can only recommend.
