Hi,
Thanks Shooonya.
My role as an HR Consultant in an techie environment is quite challenging. I act as a bridging gap between the line Managers and the HR Operations team to facilitate resolving day-2-day HR issues.
In a wider spectrum, I need to give strategic inputs to my product family head regarding ways to keep attrition under control, protect headcount erosion through value-adding workshop etc. In addition I provide the basic framework for salary revision, competency mapping and training requirement for employees in my line of business.
Hope this clarifies.
Regards

hi ..
I have joined Satyam as a Chnage Management Consultant and it seems we are working on similar turf.
I guess I will also be engaged in projects involved in large scale IT implementaions where the 'people' chnages will have to be handled so that the implementation is successful with people support.
Without active support from people from the line and even right up throught he managament, NO implementation, however proven, willm ever be successful.
what say ??

Hi,
I fully agree with you. I feel most important is to make employees understand the intent of the organisation which requires them to change.
Resistance is bound to come at an initial stage. Nothing comes for free in the world. Challenge is to keep the boat sailing.
Does it make sense?

Hi Sreenivasan,
Thanks for your reply. Keeping attrition under control is something to do with reading employees' minds and gauzing their expectations. Its a real challenge in today's scenario where opportunities are aplenty.
Thanks
