Hi Aruna,

I really appreciate your post on "Potential Appraisal." In my opinion, very few organizations implement it as a systematic approach adopted throughout the whole organization to identify, nurture, and groom talent as part of their retention and career planning strategy. Some enterprising managers do follow through with this. If you could include actual "potential appraisal" methodologies practiced by some organizations (real-life examples), it would indeed be a great value addition to your post. All the best!

Hi, Uravshi.

Well, it is a new concept. Potential appraisal is done to improve the existing capabilities and skills of an employee so as to match the future requirements of the job. In some organizations, it is done for promotions and even job rotations.
