Dear All,

Can an employer (companies, manufacturing units, firms, trusts, NGOs, etc.) demand or set a condition for the employee, during the appointment, that the original educational certificates should be submitted as security? Is it legally the employer's right?

Please note, this is extremely URGENT.

In my knowledge, there is no law specific to retention of original certificates by the employer. However, educational institutions typically retain the originals and provide an acknowledgment. It is advisable to request an official acknowledgment when surrendering the original certificates.
