Dear Priya,

This is amazing! You must be really good at Excel (I'm struggling with it as one of my subjects!!). Seriously, this is too good. I'm just a student now, but I'm sure I will save this to plan my budget for the rest of my life!

Thanks again. Cheers.

Thank you so much for sharing the worksheet. It's awesome! I really appreciate it.

I would like to know how to create an icons tab at the top of the worksheet and the drop-down boxes. Is there any way to learn these advanced skills in Excel?

Again, thanks.

Hi Priya,

I worked on this XL a few months back. However, after the inputs are given for a month, it will not reflect on the "budget by month" sheet. Somebody has really put hard work into this, but there was no finishing touch. Did you try entering the data for the past 2 months and get the results? If so, let me know whether the total expenses for the 2 months are visible and comparable. I still love to use this. Please let me know.

With Regards,
Prasad

This is a wonderful and a very useful sheet. Many can plan their expenses once they are honest in following it. Can you check if something similar is available for investment? This would be a great help for people like us who are in their late 50s to assess where they stand and how they can match the income from investments to the expenses. Please revert. Thanks once again.

Hello Priya,

The budget planner is superb and is very useful for those people who track their spendings and earnings on a daily basis. It would help anyone to make a note of their expenses and also be helpful in savings.

Thanks a lot for sharing, and I hope to see such postings in the future.

Regards,
Rehan.

Hello Priya,

It's great work in Excel, and since I also work in Excel every day, I can understand how time-consuming it is, especially the formatting. However, I think it can be improved by adding the following:

- Rules to use this worksheet
- Some validation for input
- Conditional formatting

I'll check how much additional value can be added from my side and then upload it here.

Thanks,
Byyyyyy

This budget seems great but I cannot click on the "Use this budget for comparison purposes on the Budget by Month. Could it be because I am using a Mac and therefore Office for Mac? I had to reinstall Office for Mac 2004 again to open the Macros, so it would be a pity if I can't actually use this budget that seems to be really useful.

Alternatively, I am looking for a budget and expenses tracker (one tool) for use during my PhD studies. I need to see whether I am within budget for specific things and be able to create a budget depending on the funds that I have (finite from scholarship) and then add to the monthly budget: 1) any leftover from the previous month, and 2) funds that I get as I go along and increase individual budgets (such as for entertainment, books, etc.) as I go along and divide among the months that are left... Any ideas? Thanks

Hi Priya, this is a wonderful upload. Thanks so much. I'm sure I can have control over my spending through your Excel sheet. I'm finding it difficult to scroll around. Would I be able to use the freeze pane option in the file? Please help.

Moses
