Hi,

The nature of the organization is not clear. For all types of organizations, you can obtain guidelines for safety from the website of the International Labour Organization (ILO). Additionally, national regulations will apply; you can find these regulations on the website of the national government. For example, in India, you can access them from the NIC website.

Hello,

The organization in which I am working is the Family Relationship. This organization deals with parenting plans, assists in building strong relationships, and addresses separation issues. In brief, it is a kind of counseling as well. In this regard, what could be the warning signs regarding safety?

Hi,

In addition to what I had mentioned earlier, please check the building regulations/municipal regulations regarding common spaces and areas of public gathering in place at your work area. The guidelines for the boards to be displayed will be defined there.

Thank you, Veera, for the suggestion. Could you please help me with how to write on the signboards? For example, I am planning to frame safety rules and regulations to be hung on the wall in the waiting rooms.

1. Please note that security cameras are in operation to ensure the safety of clients and staff.
2. In case of fire, please follow the fire evacuation procedures.

So, could you please help in writing further? Please suggest a few more tips on what could be included and how effectively they could be written.

Thanks,
Irshad

Hi,

You can include:

1. Dos and don'ts to be adopted by visitors regarding safety.
2. Special instructions for disabled people.
3. Visual marking of Emergency Exit routes by map or indicators.
4. Personal identification procedures to be followed by visitors.

In the case of an emergency, how will you know how many people are inside the premises? A visitor registration is needed.

5. Make an evacuation plan. Set up fire fighting and safety/first aid systems.
6. Test the evacuation plan with mock drills and train your employees on first aid and safety.

Also, please check the regulations of the state/country.

Thank you very much, Veera. I would really appreciate if you could provide me with a few more suggestions. As this is a new office setup, what other points should be noted? I want to ensure that customers who are visiting us are aware of Camera Surveillance, and what else.

I will be addressing this as a special notice. As of now, I have a few points:
1. Camera Surveillance
2. Fire Evacuation Procedure
3. Smoking prohibited

Please, what else can I add to this list?
