Seemed like another Danny Boyle (of Slumdog fame) at work, trying to give a distorted picture of the East and showing that only the West is capable of hosting events like the Olympics, etc. China has shown that despite everything, they can pull off a fantastic show. When it comes to laughing at others, the West has fantastic humor, but they lack the same when laughing at themselves.
Japan and Singapore have already shown their strengths to the Western World. It's now India's turn to shine based on her own strengths rather than through reflected glory.
